COOKIE POLICY

VALISA INTERNACIONAL, S.A. provides information related to cookies at the following web page: www.valisa.es

WHAT ARE COOKIES?

Cookies are files that may be downloaded to your device through web pages. They are tools that play an essential role for the provider of an information society service to provide a variety of different services. These include allowing a web page to store and recover data about users’ browsing habits and devices, and depending on the information obtained, these data may be used to recognise the user and improve the offered service.

TYPES OF COOKIES

Two types of cookies may be used, according to the entity that manages the domain from where the cookies are sent and processes the data that are received:

  • First-party cookies: those that are sent to the user’s device from a device or domain that is managed by the publisher itself and from which the service requested by the user is provided.
  • Third-party cookies: those that are sent to the user’s device from a device or domain that is not managed by the publisher, but rather by another entity that processes the data received via cookies.

In the case that cookies are installed from a device or domain managed by the publisher itself, but the collected information is managed by a third party, these cannot be considered first-party cookies.

A second classification of cookies exists, according to the time period that they are stored in the customer’s browser, which could be:

  • Session cookies: designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a web page. These cookies are usually used to store information that is only useful to provide a service requested by the user on a single occasion (e.g. a list of purchased products).
  • Persistent cookies: the data remain stored in the device and may be accessed and processed during a period established by the cookie’s controller. This period may range from a few minutes to several years.

Finally, there is another classification with five types of cookies that vary depending on the purpose of processing of the data that are obtained:

  • Technical cookies: allow the user to browse a web page, platform or application and to use the different options and services that they provide. For example: controlling traffic and sending data; identifying the session; accessing restricted areas; remembering individual items in an order; completing the purchase process of an order; sending a request to sign up for or participate in an event; using security features during browsing; storing content for the viewing of videos or audio; or sharing content through social media.
  • Personalisation cookies: allow the user to access the service with certain general predefined characteristics, according to a series of criteria in the user’s device. This includes: language; type of browser used to access the service; the regional configuration used to access the service, etc.
  • Analytical cookies: allow their controller to track and analyse the behaviour of the users of the websites to which they are linked. The data collected through these cookies are used to measure activities on the website, application or platform, and to create user profiles for browsing such sites, applications and platforms. The purpose of this is to introduce improvements in the analysis of usage data provided by users of the service.
  • Advertising cookies: allow for the most effective management possible of the advertising space.
  • Behavioural advertising cookies: store behavioural user data that are obtained through the continuous observation of browsing habits, allowing personalised profiles to be created, on which advertising can be based.
  • External social media cookies: are used so that visitors may interact with the content on different social networking platforms (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.). These cookies are only generated for users of these social networks. The conditions of use of these cookies and the information collected are governed by the privacy policy of the corresponding social networking platform.
